PRODUCT REVIEW:
Redken’s Aerate 08 bodifying crème-mousse
Imagine a mousse in a jar. Who knew? The chemists at Redken apparently did and they have brought us a wonderful new product. Aerate is a nice combination of a mousse for volume and cream for smoothness and shine. It really does feel different – like it was whipped right into the jar.
According to Redken, cellulose is the key to their new mousse. It plumps the hair for body and volume. It is also infused with conditioning agents to create the creamy texture which adds the shine, silky softness and humidity control. Aerate also has some UV protection – ALWAYS good for hair especially color treated!
I have been truly surprised at how well this product works for its intended use. It has a beautiful finish – very shiny with a nice buffered type of volume. The hair feels very silky and soft after a blow out.
I would recommend this product to clients who have fine hair, but need a little more conditioning because of dryness like high lift color or previous texture problems from heat tools, etc. It is nearly weightless – I can’t say it’s totally weightless, but I’ve seen good results on even the finest hair. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a nice bounce to the hair with beautiful shine and softness. More heavy hair, or coarseness, might not see the same volume, but the finish is absolutely beautiful.
